Why So Expensive?

Why in the coming years have weddings become so expensive? I believe this has happened because of societal changes. We believe that what is bigger is better. We are trying to keep up with our neighbor to feel that we are part of this societal change. There is an old saying that says “ You are trying to keep up with the Jones’s” The Jones’s would be considered your neighbor. Another reason on why weddings have become so expensive is because of the economy. Life has changed in the sense of the dollar. Wedding dresses in the 50’s cost 150$ and that was considered expensive while now dresses are about 1500$ or more. Detailing in the dresses also what makes the dress much more expensive. Another reason why weddings have become expensive is because of supply and and demand. It’s what people want. It’s that one day to feel like a princess to feel on top of the world, why wouldn’t one want to go all the way with money not being an object? As the video points out, we understand how much an avocado sells for and would not spend 8$ on it, but with weddings most are new and do not have a real understating about how much things may cost. It’s as if they almost take advantage of that.
