Mean world syndrome:

We aren’t mean. We aren’t these types of people that look to bring down the cartel to sell drugs in this country but they sure do portray Mexicans as these big bad strong individuals that are ready to shoot up a place for drugs or a suitcase full of money. When I think of this situation that shows this fully I think of the Trilogy featuring Antonio Banderas playing in El Mariachi, Desperado, and the last installment called Once upon a time in Mexico. In each of these movies his motive is to stop the drug cartel as a hidden mariachi player carrying around a guitar case. But, there’s no guitar in it. He carries a gun inside it to hide his motives. He runs around town trying to find that one individual that is ready to make the drop. Wherever that may be, in all three of these movies, He barrages into the place shoots up that place, demolishes it to literally nothing leaving no survivors. The one thing about the last two though is now... he’s the hero who’s having to save a damsel in distress. The misconception of Mexicans being this bad guy but yet, has a soft side? It can be a little misleading. Which kind of individual is he? The main thing we need to remember when we watch these movies is: They’re just that-Movies. It is over hyped about who Mexicans really are. It isn't to say that there aren’t bad people in this world. But the misconception it sends is that we leave no man standing; heartless individuals who could careless about the human race. Hang out with a few, see how they are... you’ll find out that if you visit them the very thing you'll get from their household is an offering of food! And mannn is Mexican food the best!
